Master Djembefola Mamady Keita will return to the Atlanta djembe community this Fall for a weekend of drumming and fellowship. A variety of class levels and formats will be offered that both welcome new students and challenge continuing and advanced drummers.

Intermediate & Advanced Djembe & Dunun Classes

Workshop Details

1st of 2 classes to learn several rhythms connected by a ballet style bridge.
You will leave with a complete performance arrangement to play with your group.

Plus dance class with Sekou Soumah!
a “solo originale” (traditional solo phrases) or other Mamady Keita solo techniques that mark the step for a particular dance.
Learn the dunun side of the rhythms taught in the Performance Arrangement classes
2nd of 2 classes to learn several rhythms connected by a ballet style bridge.
You will leave with a complete performance arrangement to play with your group.
